DEADHAND USER GUIDE
How pastes, canary trigger links, deletion seeds, and the Hall of Fame work.
๐ 1. Creating a Standard Paste
Anyone can create a paste on Deadhand without needing an account. Simply click on + Add Paste in the top navigation bar, accept the guidelines disclaimer, enter your title and content, solve the security captcha, and hit Upload.
- Anonymous Mode: If you are not logged in, your paste is published under the name you choose (or Anonymous).
- Markdown Support: The editor supports text, code formatting, and lists.
โก 2. Deadhand Switch & Canary Trigger Links
When writing a paste on the Upload page, you can choose the mode "Deadhand Switch (Canary Link)" instead of direct publishing.
- How it works: Your paste is encrypted and stored in a pending unreleased state. It is NOT visible on the homepage or search archive.
- Your Secret Trigger Link: You receive a unique release URL (e.g.,
https://deadhand.net/trigger/TOKEN...). - Activation: The moment this trigger URL is called (visited in any browser or triggered by an automated ping), the post is instantly released publicly to the front page!
๐ 3. Private Deletion Seeds (Right to Delete)
When you publish anonymously, you are provided with a Private Deletion Seed.
- This seed is stored locally in your browser and shown on-screen upon publishing.
- Self-Service Deletion: If you ever wish to delete your post, click the "Delete Paste" button in the website footer, enter the Paste ID and your Deletion Seed. The paste is immediately wiped from the database.
๐ 4. The Hall of Fame
The Hall of Fame is a dedicated card gallery celebrating notable figures, contributions, and memories in Deadhand history.
- Click + Add Entry on the Hall of Fame page to submit an entry with an optional portrait photo.
- Entries are presented in a 3-column card grid with neon green branding.
๐ก๏ธ 5. Rules & Content Guidelines
Deadhand enforces strict automated security and content policies:
- Prohibited: Harassment, swatting, doxxing uninvolved individuals, malware, or any unlawful acts are strictly forbidden and will be permanently removed.
- Bot Protection: Every public submission requires our native image math CAPTCHA to protect the system against automated spam and DDoS attacks.
